Our consumer friendly loans are designed to ensure that customers who have made their payments on time are provided with affordable paths to ownership. We've integrated our financing and lending operations so that the process is seamless and efficient. We view every customer as a lifetime energy partner, with both sides contributing value at each stage of the customer's journey.

Seamless transition
Each lease or power purchase agreement conversion is straightforward, made possible by the integration between our financing and lending operations. Customers really don't even have to apply for a loan. Those who have made their payments on time are automatically given the opportunity to convert their lease or PPA into a loan beginning in month 61. It's as simple as clicking a link or scanning a QR code. When a customer feels the time is right, their loan is waiting on standby, our systems ready to make the transition as smooth as possible.

The problem we solved was that of making long-term solar and battery storage ownership affordable. Loan terms and interest rates are structured so that a customer's monthly payment is often less than or equal to their original utility bill (yes, the price they were paying for electricity more than five years ago). And because the buyout price decreases each month, customer's can choose when to convert their lease or power purchase agreement without missing any savings along the way.

Solar panels without battery storage often creates problems for the grid. The issue is known as the "duck curve." During midday, when solar panels generate maximum power, grid operators reduce energy production because demand is low. However, when everyone returns home in the evening, demand spikes and utilities have to rely on expensive peaker plants that cost up to 4x wholesale rates to handle the surge. Those high costs get passed onto all of us. That's why every system we provide includes whole home battery backup.
