These algorithms help us analyze each customer's utility history and to determine how likely they are to make their payments. Our ability to assess risk is what enables us to provide such affordable financing options. If someone doesn't pay, it ends up costing everyone. Our research shows that customers who pay their utility bills on time are those most likely to pay their solar lease or power purchase agreement on time.

Believe it or not, putting solar panels on your roof without battery storage actually does more harm than good. Why? It's called the "duck curve." When solar panels are producing energy during the day, grid operators have to reduce their output when demand is low. As a result, when everyone comes home after work, demand surges and utilities have to rely on costly peaker plants that charge up to 4x wholesale rates to meet the surge. And we all pay for it too. That's why we spec every system with battery storage exceeding the size of the array.

Smart inverter
In addition to ensuring that every system has battery storage in excess of its array, we also provide smart inverters. Not only can you monitor your system with your smartphone or tablet, but your system can also perform intelligent load leveling. This means that when demand is low, your system can soak up excess supply from the grid. When demand is high in the early evening, your system can dispatch power for duck curve mitigation. For every 100 systems deployed, load leveling equates to $1 to $3M in deferred upgrades for utilities, saving you and your neighbors money while strengthening the grid.
